There is, thankfully, an ever-growing list of ethical fashion brands. For that reason, I’m limiting this list to the brands that I personally use and recommend. I’ll keep updating this list as I try out more brands and products. (And stay tuned for a list of ethical beauty and home furnishing brands, and anything else that you’d like to read about.)
By the way, if you’re ever unsure about how ethical a fashion brand is, email them and ask. Generally, companies that make the effort to use ethical sourcing and production methods are happy to talk about it. On the other hand, avoid the companies that try to dodge your questions, provide no evidence of their methods, or do something charitable only to distract you from their bad methods.
